Wind Masts
Accurate wind monitoring is available to determine how much power can be generated by the turbine. The data collected will also determine how much of the time power will be produced and, perhaps most importantly, how long the investment will take to pay back.
Where data from the NOABL database cannot be used a wind mast may be erected to monitor the average wind speed over a set period of time (usually three months). At a cost of £600.00 for the first quarter and £400.00 for every quarter there after.
Our wind masts are available at different heights and should ideally be that of the proposed turbine hub height.
The system used is the same as met office systems and all data collected is in the standard format.
We use various anchorage systems that allow installation in all types of ground conditions from sand to rock.
A point to note, is that monitoring for 3-6 months is available, but this can only ever produce a best educated guess wind data report, where as a years monitoring will be more accurate, and two years worth even better again as no two years are the same.
