We offer information on site assessments, wind requirements and we also have examples of the installations we have completed. Once you have absorbed this information, then

the next step is 'Buying a turbine',where we give more detailed help on the process of choosing and buying a turbine.

The Government announced on 9th February 2012 that they do not intend to reduce the Feed Tariff rates for new wind installations untill October 2012.

After a prolonged delay it is a massive relief to all involved to at least have some certainty on Feed Tarriff rates.

The Feed Tariff payments asre fixed for 20 years at the level at which you join the scheme (subject to annual adjustments for inflation).  There has never been a better time to have a turbine especially as rates for all turbines under 100 kW are projected to drop to 21p /kWh if installed after October 2012.  (it is not clear at the moment if that new 21p rate will have increased with the annual inflation adjustment before it comes into force).

Technically this is only the Governments proposal in the form of a 'consultation document', which will be open for comments until 26th April 2012.  the Government will then frame their final proposal into new legislation which will pass into law in the summer.  However the decision not to implemet the pre-planned reduction in rates from April 2012 will allow more people to benefit from the current rates and the announcement of the new rates will give certainty to those considering a wind turbine.

If you have not had a survey or started the planning process we suggest you contact Dorrell Renewables Limited as soon as possible.  Planning normally takes at least 3 months, the turbine will need to be ordered and a date fixed for installation.  So whilst October 2012 may appear to be a long way off, there is not a great deal of time spare.

The Prime Minister has attended a meeting of International Energy Ministers today as part of the Clean Energy Ministerial in Central London, to make the case for clean energy in the UK and around the world.

Speaking to Energy Ministers from 23 leading economies, the Prime Minister said:

"There are huge challenges facing governments across the world today, and one of the most important of all is how we meet our growing energy demands in a way that protects our planet for our children and grandchildren.

With global demand forecast to increase by more than 40 percent in the next two decades, we urgnetly need a more diverse, cleaner mix of energy sources that will give us energy resources that will give us energy security without causing irreparable damage to the planet.

Renewables are now the fastest growing energy source on the planet.  And I am proud that Britain has played a leading role at the forefront of this green energy revolution.

Britain has gone from virtually no capacity for renewables, to seeing them provide almost 10 percent of our local electricity needs last year.  And we've added more capacity for renewables in the last two years than any time in the last decade."
